In a previous study, we also observed a decreased number of CD8+ T cells in the metastatic lungs of B1−/− mice compared to WT when none of the groups were treated with DABK, reinforcing the hypothesis that activation of the B1 receptor in the microenvironment plays a role in the immune response against melanoma by recruiting CD8+ T cells to the metastatic area. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is melanoma.
