We performed a similar analysis on microglial cells isolated from brain hemispheres by fluorescence-activated cell sorting 24 and 72 h after ischemia and what we observed is an increase in the expression of pgc1β and slc25a15 in CX3CL1 treated mice both 24 and 72 h after ischemia (Figure 5E, n = 4 mice per group, ∗∗p < 0.001 ∗p > 0.05; Student’s t-test), while CX3CL1 reduced pkm2 expression 24 and 72 h after brain damage and ldhα expression 72 h after ischemia insult (Figure 5F, n = 4 mice per group, ∗∗p < 0.001 ∗p > 0.05; Student’s t-test). The gene discussed is PPARGC1B; the disease is ischemia.
