Based on the fact that attenuation of E-cadherin expression is generally accepted as a hallmark of the EMT process and has often been observed in cancer metastasis, in this study, we showed that METTL3-mediated m6A modification in epigenetic activation of ZMYM1 represses E-cadherin by targeting the CtBP/LSD1/CoREST complex to chromatin, thus facilitating EMT and metastasis of GC. This evidence concerns the gene CTBP1 and gastric cancer.
