Liver from infected mice exhibited increased percentages of TAG, free fatty acids, and free cholesterol, suggestive of hepatic dyslipidemia, and our quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) results corroborated this by revealing a decreased hepatic mRNA expression of PPAR-α, PGC-1α, and CPT1-A during infection. This evidence concerns the gene PPARGC1A and infection.
