We found that the majority of CD11b+ LyChi Ly6G- CD64+ inflammatory monocytes present in the ear of VACV-infected mice at 5 days post-infection were CCR5+, the receptor for CCL4, rather than CCR2+, or positive for the receptors for CXCL13 (CXCR5) or CXCL9 and CXCL10 (CXCR3) (Fig 5E).
