In cervical cancer, ITGAE gene expression has been strongly correlated with cytotoxic T cell markers (e.g., CD8/granzyme B), and in a preclinical mouse model, human papillomavirus (HPV) E6/E7 targeted therapeutic vaccination combined with radiotherapy increased the number of intratumoral CD103+CD8+ T cells, indicating that CD103 is a promising response biomarker of HPV E6/E7 targeted immunotherapy 16. This evidence concerns the gene ITGAE and cervical cancer.
