A manual count of cells with high levels of ApoE expression in CA1 found that untreated 3xTg-AD animals had significantly less ApoE+ cells than did the control WT subjects regarding similar cells (p < 0.05) and that bexarotene recovered the number of ApoE+ cells in treated 3xTg-AD animals from the levels found in untreated 3xTg-AD animals (p < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and Alzheimer disease.
