Interestingly, cervical cancer CaSki cells cocultured with exosomes from J1.1 cells expressed higher levels of proinflammatory genes, such as IL-6, IL-8, TGF-β, collagen type I (COL1A2), and matrix metallopeptidase 2 (MMP2) (Fig. 2C), which play an important role in regulating the inflammatory microenvironment and promoting the progression of cervical cancer.
