Based on the obtained results, we hypothesize that LSD1 activity could be an important target for the anticancer therapy, as well as for the treatment of other diseases where endothelial dysfunction is observed, as our data confirm the dramatic importance of the demethylase in cell cycle progression and DNA repair, and show that the response of cells to LSD1 inhibition depends on the cell type origin. The gene discussed is MBD2; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
