Breunig et al. found that increased oncogenic miR-519a-3p expression in breast cancer cells enabled protection against the apoptosis-induced stimuli by TRAIL and Fas ligand, via diminishing the expression of its target genes coding for TRAIL-R2 (TNFRSF10B) and caspase-8 and its indirect target gene for caspase-7. Here, TNFRSF10B is linked to breast carcinoma.
