Antisense non‐coding RNA in the INK4 locus (ANRIL), a 2659 bp nuclear and perinuclear cytoplasmic antisense lncRNA, is identified to co‐cluster with ARF (also known as p14ARF or cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor 2A) in a melanoma‐neural system tumour family.66 In another study, ANRIL was shown to be upregulated whereas INK4A and INK4B were downregulated in cutaneous melanoma tissues and melanoma cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2B and melanoma.
