A subset of mice lacking one allele of Gata2 in endothelial cells display a dilated thoracic duct with reduced lymph flow (Kazenwadel et al., 2015), but they have a normal lifespan and do not develop any obvious symptoms of the human disease, such as leukemia, bacterial infections or warts (our unpublished observations). This evidence concerns the gene GATA2 and bacterial infectious disease.
