NFKB1 and Alzheimer disease: Lukiw et al. [51] studied miRNA expression in the hippocampal tissue of AD patients and observed the upregulation of specific proinflammatory miRNAs, including miR-9, miR-125b, and miR-155, which all seem to be induced by NF-κB, thus indicating the possible role of these miRNAs in the neuronal inflammation of AD.
