In addition, studies found that MIEN1 is overexpressed in various carcinomas and abundantly in distant metastases while it is expressed at low levels or zero in normal human tissues, suggesting that MIEN1 overexpression represents an oncogenic nature in the promotion of tumor cell dissemination and metastasis in breast cancer in vitro and in vivo [7,10]. This evidence concerns the gene MIEN1 and breast carcinoma.
