Nevertheless, in some of the RPL22L1 high CRC patients samples analyzed, there was subclonal loss of either MLH1 or MSH2; however, a recent study linking expression of MMR genes with MSI status reported that unless loss of the MMR protein occurred in more than 75% of the tumor cells, the tumors appear to be MSS [35].
