In the acute phase of ICH in rats, REP can reduce the hematoma volume, the count of activated microglia, and the expression of von Willebrand factor (vWF) and can also prevent the leakage of immunoglobulin G (IgG) into the brain parenchyma without blocking the microvessels.127 Based on the characteristics of nanotechnology, we hypothesize that future studies will focus on the repair of WM after ICH, although such studies are relatively rare.
