BATF2 and neoplasm: In accordance with its tumour suppressor role, SARI was found to be down‐regulated in many types of cancers,15, 19, 23, 24 but expressed at a high level in the normal colon, spleen, pancreas and prostate tissues.12 A previous study by our group indicated that the down‐regulation of SARI inversely correlates with poor clinical outcomes in colon cancer patients.15 In the present study, a decrease in intestinal SARI mRNA and protein expression accompanied the DSS treatment in the CAC model.
