Although Akkermansia muciniphila is a bacterium capable of reducing fat mass development, insulin resistance, metabolic endotoxemia, adipose tissue inflammation and dyslipidaemia in obese mice and in a pilot study conducted in humans32,33, we observed a decreased abundance of this bacteria in the cecal content of ApoE−/− mice treated with the combination CG + PPE.
