OA can also be regarded as a degenerative disease as the main pathological features of OA are progressive articular cartilage degeneration.17 Ageing is the major risk factor for OA and other factors including obesity and heredity also contribute to the development of OA.18 The molecular mechanisms for OA are not fully elucidated, and extracellular matrix destruction, inflammatory responses, or chondrocytes apoptosis are closely involved in the OA progression.19 In this study, we have focused on apoptosis and explored the modulation effect of lncRNA PART‐1 on chondrocytes apoptosis. This evidence concerns the gene PART1 and obesity disorder.
