This paradox results from increased lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity, low levels of apolipoprotein CIII activity, and a LPL activity that is uninhibited by insulin resistance in blacks compared to Caucasians, culminating in a greater clearance of triglyceride‐rich lipoproteins in blacks than whites.33, 34, 35, 36. Here, APOC3 is linked to Insulin resistance.
