Our results indicated that PCW reduces FFA-induced phosphorylation of mTOR and p70S6K concomitantly increases AMPK phosphorylation; however, treatment with compound C significantly blocks these effects, suggesting that PCW activates autophagy by inhibiting mTOR via AMPK, which may also contribute to attenuate hepatic steatosis. This evidence concerns the gene RPS6KB1 and fatty liver disease.
