Although the overall frequency of DENV–NS3‐ and DENV–NS5‐specific T cells was low for all cytokines that were evaluated, they were comparable to the frequencies of antigen‐specific T cells seen in the acute phase of other virus infections such as influenza,32 measles,33 and Ebola.34 Therefore, although we observed a low frequency of DENV‐specific CD8+ T‐cell responses, these lower frequencies are likely to be important in controlling the viraemia, as seen with acute viral infections. The gene discussed is RAF1; the disease is viral infectious disease.
