Five genes are involved in DNA repair, a role closely related to genome maintenance and cancer [44, 45], and were shown to have a protective role in various types of cancer (only one paper is cited by gene, but many others confirm this role): EXO1 [46], ERCC1 [47], GTF2H1 [48], MDC1 [49], and DGCR8 [50]. This evidence concerns the gene GTF2H1 and cancer.
