In the early stage of sepsis, with the help of lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), the LPS binds to the cluster of differentiation 14, an LPS receptor, to form an immune complex that ultimately interact with TLRs to promote intracellular signal transduction and release various inflammatory mediators such as IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α (Cohen, 2002; Guijarro-Munoz et al., 2014, Kumar, 2018; Lendak et al., 2018). Here, LBP is linked to Sepsis.
