Two recent studies reported the association between the monocyte–lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and disease activity in RA; the total lymphocyte count was significantly lower in RA patients relative to the OA and HC groups and correlated with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP) level, and disease activity score of 28 joints (DAS28) [19,20]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and rheumatoid arthritis.
