ARID3A and systemic lupus erythematosus: Because ARID3a over-expression in SLE is limited to a percentage of cells within any given cell type (i.e., B cells, LDNs, and pDCs), one might imagine that the reversible inhibition of this protein could provide directed therapies that would inhibit the ARID3a-expressing subsets of cells without impairing the normal immune responses in cells that do not express ARID3a.
