In addition to tauopathy, CTE is accompanied by other proteinopathies such as amyloidopathy and TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP-43) proteinopathy (7–9), the latter of which was originally thought to be a specific marker for ALS that forms ubiquitinated inclusions (35, 36). This evidence concerns the gene TARDBP and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
