Consistent with our results, the labdane diterpenoid andrographolide has been reported to inhibit the invasion and migration of several tumor cells including breast, colon, lung, and glioblastoma cancer cells through modulation of MMP expression (Shi et al., 2009; Chao et al., 2010; Lee et al., 2010; Chao et al., 2013; Yang et al., 2014; Zhai et al., 2015; Hsieh et al., 2017), whereas coronarin D suppressed TNF-induced cellular invasion via downregulation of MMP-9 activity (Kunnumakkara et al., 2008).
