Nomura et al reported that KD patients treated with IVIG before 5 days had a higher incidence of aneurysms than those treated at the fifth day or after (15.2% vs 1.3%; P = 0.004).35 We also found that patients treated within 4 days had a higher incidence of IVIG resistance (21.4% vs 9.1%; P < 0.001), a younger age of onset (1.4 vs 1.8 years; P < 0.001), higher levels of CRP (71 vs 62 mg/L; P = 0.001), ALT (28 vs 22 U/L; P < 0.001), AST (29 vs 26 U/L; P < 0.001) and TB (7.3 vs 6.0 μmol/L; P < 0.001), and lower levels of Na (135.7 vs 136.2 mmol/L; P < 0.001). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is tuberculosis.
