We here chose a consensus PTSD model - single prolonged stress (SPS) model [19] - to investigate the relationship between PTSD and tau pathology, and found that SPS-induced PTSD upregulates AKT/GSK3β and down-regulates SGK1/ERK1/2, which incongruously result in differential tau hyperphosphorylation at different sites and PTSD-like anxiety. The gene discussed is GSK3B; the disease is post-traumatic stress disorder.
