Within the MO group, the HIR-MO subjects showed decreased levels of PPAR-γ2 both free protein and as PPAR-γ2–RXR-α heterodimer, suggesting that PPAR-γ2 are also associated with insulin resistance during adipocyte development, and confirming that PPAR-γ2, similar to C/EBP-α and FOXO1, could be a potential candidate to protect against insulin resistance pathways during adipocyte differentiation.
