More specific, previous studies have demonstrated a reduction in VGF-derived peptides in the CSF of patients affected by ALS (VGF398-411), FTD (VGF26-62), and AD (e.g., TLQP-62, VGF373-417, VGF64-80, VGF268-278) compared to control subjects [15,18,19,22,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32]. This evidence concerns the gene VGF and frontotemporal dementia.
