CDKN2A (also known as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A), which encodes the inhibitor of cyclin D-dependent kinases, p16, and SOCS3 (which in turn encodes the suppressor of cytokine signaling 3), is another hypermethylated gene detected in the plasma of HCC patients [23,41]. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
