Curcumin has been proven in vitro to inhibit the growth of PCa cells by increasing apoptosis, suppressing NF-κB activation, downregulating the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and B cell lymphoma extra-large (Bcl-xL), and leading to an activation of caspase-3 and -8. Here, NFKB1 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
