INS and Hypoglycemia: Emergency departments (EDs) often treat this pathology.1 A longitudinal study demonstrated that EDs treat more than 95,000 patients for hypoglycemia annually, comprising 3.4% of the entire diabetic population, of which 25% required hospital admission.1,2 While hypoglycemia is commonly caused by factors such as missing meals, wrong insulin medication or dose at home, hypoglycemia can also be caused by iatrogenesis.1,3
