In an analysis of eight clinical trials in type 2 diabetic patients with obesity (body mass index at baseline: 31.5 ± 5.6 kg/m2), the treatment with GLP-1R agonist, exenatide decreased SBP of −5.8 ± 0.7 mmHg in the patients with greater weight loss of −7.0 ± 0.2 kg from baseline, while decreased SBP of −0.5 ± 0.6 mmHg in the patients with smaller weight loss or gain of +1.5 ± 0.1 kg65. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
