The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a cell-surface site for the integration and transduction of signals from multiple types of stimuli (osmotic shock, oxidative radicals, peptide molecules and membrane depolarization, etc.)and is known to be an important signaling center in many pathological states such as diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular dysfunction (Prenzel et al., 2001; Akhtar & Benter, 2013; Makki, Thiel & Miller, 2013). Here, EGFR is linked to cancer.
