APOBEC3A and breast carcinoma: In our recent work, using the GWAS identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from The Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC) [21], we found that a risk allele of the GWAS-identified SNP rs12628403 is significantly associated with a decreased expression of the APOBEC3B gene, supporting that germline APOBEC3A/B deletion contributes to breast cancer risk in European populations [22].
