SERPINB5 and cancer: Increased level of Maspin was detected in different types of cancer and shown to (i) efficiently promote cancer cell apoptosis, (ii) exhibit anti-angiogenesis activity and (iii) inhibit cancer cell migration (Zou et al., 1994; Zhang et al., 1999; Ngamkitidechakul et al., 2001; Song et al., 2002; Cher et al., 2003; Sopel, Kasprzyk & Berdowska, 2005).
