These bnAbs arise during chronic HIV-1 infection and target epitopes in the CD4 binding site (CD4bs), V2-apex and V3-glycan regions of gp120, the membrane-proximal external region (MPER) of gp41, the gp120-gp41 interface/gp41 fusion peptide, and glycan-dependent epitopes in the center of the gp120 “silent face” [2]. The gene discussed is ITIH4; the disease is HIV-1 infection.
