Our results, showing the ability of automated image analysis to assess PD-L1 status in patients with non-small cell lung cancer, complement those of a recent analysis using data from a Phase 1/2 study, which demonstrated that an automated image analysis signature (based on combined baseline cell densities of PD-L1[ + ] tumor cells and CD8[ + ] tumor infiltrating lymphocytes) may allow better identification of responders to durvalumab monotherapy compared with manual PD-L1 scoring alone [36]. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and neoplasm.
