A higher frequency of chromosomal alterations was observed in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) with Tet2 deletion, which affected the genomic loci containing genes that are associated with hematological malignancies, e.g., Flt3, Notch1, and Mll2. Interestingly, a majority of these mutated sites were featured by an accumulation of 5hmC, which could not be further oxidized to 5fC and 5caC due to the absence of TET2 [35]. This evidence concerns the gene TET2 and hematologic disorder.
