A key question is whether combined use of platelets and rFVIIa (rFVIIa + PT ± AF) has an advantage over rFVIIa (alone or with AF) or PT ± AF.4This pediatric analysis correlated with prior data reported from the GTR indicating that rFVIIa + PT ± AF was less effective than rFVIIa and rFVIIa + AF.6As previously suggested, based upon the observational nature of the registry,6rFVIIa + PT ± AF may have been used in patients with particularly difficult or challenging clinical situations and often when platelets may have been added to rFVIIa ± AF or rFVIIa added to PT ± AF. This evidence concerns the gene F2 and atrial fibrillation.
