In line with the eQTL result, survival analysis of BRCA patients showed that higher CTSW expression was associated with significantly better survival probability [log-rank p-value with median expression cutoff; p = 0.026, for ER+ breast cancer patients analyzed in this study (Figure 2B); p = 7.3 × 10–4 for all BRCA patients in the analysis performed by THPA (Uhlen et al., 2017d), image: (Uhlen et al., 2017a)]. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and breast carcinoma.
