In a multicenter randomized phase III trial (ALCANZA, NCT01578499) that enrolled adult patients with CD30-positive mycosis fungoides or primary cutaneous ALCL who had received prior systemic therapy, patients receiving BV demonstrated more favorable outcome than those receiving conventional therapy (methotrexate or bexarotene): ORR lasting at least 4 months (56.3% vs. 12.5%), CR (16% vs 2%), and median PFS (17.2 vs. 3.5 months). The gene discussed is TNFRSF8; the disease is anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
