HAMP and nutritional disorder: Hepcidin levels were higher in children with high CRP than in children with normal CRP but only in the group with normal iron status (15.0 vs. 8.4 ng/mL, p = 0.016), while hepcidin levels were higher in children with high α-1 glycoprotein, but only in the group with iron deficiency (10.5 vs. 6.8, p = 0.044) (Table 2).
