The suppression of the CD36, a membrane glycoprotein modulator of lipid homeostasis and immune responses, playing critical roles in the uptake of fatty acids and involved in neurodevelopment, metabolic disorders, aging, dementia and stroke (Zhang et al., 2018) attenuates P2X7 and adipogenic protein expressions and decreases adipocyte differentiation (Gao et al., 2017). Here, P2RX7 is linked to metabolic disease.
