METTL3 and neoplasm: Our study demonstrates that aberrant m6A modification in CRC was responsible for the upregulated METTL3 expression, which marks pri-miR-1246 for further processing; this increased the expression of metastasis-related miRNA-1246, resulting in downregulation of the expression of anti-oncogene SPRED2 and leading to tumor metastasis (Fig. 7).
