A substantial contribution to the field of NMU involvement in breast cancer was made by the O’Driscoll group [35,36], who correlated NMU with HER2-positive cells’ (HCC1954 and SKBR3 cells) therapy resistance and elevated aggressiveness, evinced by increased migration, invasion, and resistance to anoikis, whereas NMU knockdown had the opposite effects [36]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
