The remaining ten genes (CCDC28B, CREBBP, EP300, IER3IP1, MRAP2, PHF6, SH2B1, TMEM67, VPS13B), selected in the present study were therefore, screened for the first time in Pakistani families with the aim of assessing the prevalence of damaging mutations conferring early-onset obesity. This evidence concerns the gene CCDC28B and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
